JGIBA has conducted a Visit to Sabarmati Central Jail on 4th and 5th February 2020. First and foremost JGIBA is thankful to Jail Management, officers and police men’s for allowing the students of JGIBA for the visit and their extraordinary support during the visit.
On 4th February 50 girls and on 5th February 40 boys with two faculties, Prof Namika and Prof Hardik visited the jail.
The objective of the visit was to understanding management of various operations and activities which takes place at Sabarmati Central Jail
– ITI Centre for technical training
– Carpentering yard
– Cell of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jhaverchand Meghani etc.
– Various courses of Indira Gandhi Open University, Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, journalism of Gujarat Vidyapith etc..
are offered to Prisoners
– Tailoring work
– Book binding
– Diamond polishing
– Manufacturing eco friendly sanitary napkins
Students have learned a different aspect of management where more than 450 employees work and manage around 2500 Prisoners with different activities. Students found the visit informative and it also helped a lot for getting practical insight for their project topic.
